A Weekend Getaway

Our fun friends, the Gailey's, invited us to their cabin up at Strawberry Reservoir for the weekend. We had a such a blast! We went 4 wheeling on Friday night when we got up there - James let me do the driving! It was my first time on one of those puppies and I loved it! We stayed up late playing fun games and then on Saturday we hit the lake and went boating - I let James drive this time, he he he! It was a super fun little getaway and we are totally lucky to have such awesome friends!

Those Summer Nights

Last weekend we went to the Redwood Drive-In and it was soooooo much fun! Not only do you get to see two movies for the price of one, but talk about a comfy way to watch a flick. The weather was perfect and the movies we saw rocked! I hope this place stays in business forever because it's definitely one of our favorite summer activities! I even caught myself singing "Stranded at the Drive-In" from Grease in between the movies!!!

Take me out to the ballgame!

It's a tradition that every year for Father's Day, I (Heather) take my dad on a daddy-daughter date to a Salt Lake Bee's game! This summer has been crazy busy, so we just got around to planning it! This year we thought it would be fun to bring along our spouses, so James and my mom came with us! There is nothing quite like a ball game - hotdogs, cotton candy, crazy fans, and an excuse to wear giant foam fingers! We had a total blast singing during the 7th inning stretch and the Bee's even won the game!

Adoption Conference

We spent this past weekend at the National Families Supporting Adoption Conference up in Layton. It was AMAZING!!! We went to an awesome workshop about infertility, a workshop on open adoption, one on transracial adoption, and our favorite: several panels with birth mothers. We are so inspired by the stories that these birth mothers shared! Statistics say that every 26 seconds an abortion occurs... scary! Placing a child for adoption is truely the bravest, most selfless choice these birth mothers will ever make! We have so much respect for them and we are thrilled to be on our journey into the incredible world of adoption!
